Why does MYSL require teams to have a team manager?
MYSL considers the team manager to be the primary contact for each team and depends upon the team managers for all communications and team follow-up. MYSL highly suggests that each team manager be a non-head coach as the head coach role is time consuming and could lead to coach burnout.
How do coaches handle children of varying skill ability and interest levels?
Coaches must be patient with their players as children develop at different rates. Many children who join teams for social reasons in their first years become serious soccer players as they mature. It is up to each coach to recruit players depending on what kind of them the coach is trying to form (recreational vs competitive). Ensuring the coach states their philosophy and intentions to parents is important to ensure coach and parent expectations match.
Does MYSL support coaches who want to pursue a USSF coaching license?
